Yes. You pay for the walking stick outright and it belongs to you. The monthly or annual subscrition is for the use of the You ID Me emergency ID and alert system. This is a well established online system based in the UK where your vital ID and emergency medical information is stored, in case needed in an emergency.
What is included with my order?
When you order your Medical Alert Walking Stick you can choose to pay more and get the first year You ID Me service without setting up a You ID Me subscription. Alternatively you may set up a direct debit and guarantee that the price for the You ID me service will not increase with time; thereby beating inflation.
What is included with the Subscription?
The subscription covers your access to the You ID Me service. Your plan level will be Platinum unless you choose not to pay the extra or sign up for a direct debit in which case your service plan will be Gold. You can learn what is iincluded with each You ID Me plan here.
Is the Medical Alert Walking Stick trackable by GPS?
No. Though having access to You D Me Platinum plan will give you free access to a tool called Walkalone which allows you to send alerts to your contacts to let them know that you feel scared or unsafe. The alert will also send a Google map of your location which does use GPS. Please note that Walkalone is a standalone tool, requires being logged in and having your own smart phone with you.
