You ID Me has the capability of alerting selected emergency contacts' phone/s in an emergency.
This can let them know that you are in difficulty. It may also share the contact details of the person treating / looking after you* enabling your emergency contacts to contact them to get the latest information about your well being.
The point at which this happens is when your ID profile is accessed in an emergency.
Alerts are triggered instantly. They are pre-formatted SMS text messages sent to one or both of your emergency contacts from a no-reply service.

If you have opted for any of your contacts to receive alerts, a first responder will see a pop-up when they access your emergency profile that looks like this:
The pop up asks them to provide their contact details to share with the ID carrier's emergency contacts. This is made optional for them since it may not be possible for them to take calls whilst dealing with the emergency; they may have more urgent priorities.
If the first responder selects "Yes" they may provide their name and contact number. This information is appended to the emergency text message/s sent to the selected emergency contacts.
If the first responder selects "No" then an SMS is sent to alert emergency contacts without first responder contact information.

Platinum plan subscribers receive up 120 SMS text messages per year split into a monthly allowance of 10 alerts. This should be sufficient for genuine emergency situations and for regular testing which we encourage strongly.
Alerts are automatically replenished each month if a subscriber uses up their monthly quota early. An email is sent to subscribers to confirm when this has happened.
Users can contact customer services should they deplete their monthly allowance.
