Setting Up SMS Alerts in Your You ID Me Profile

This short video above shows you how to set up SMS text alerts to your selected emergency contacts in your You ID Me profile.

1. Log in to your profile using your user ID and password to begin
2. Scroll down to your first emergency contact
3. Select the country code where the mobile phone was purchased  / registered
4. Enter  emergency contact's mobile number omitting the first zero  and remove any other characters such as #, () +00 etc.
5. Select the SMS check box for the contact if you want the system to alert them 
6. Repeat for contact two if you also wish for them to receive an alert
7. Check the 'Agree to Terms and Conditions' box in section 4
8. Click "Submit"
9. Log out of your profile to activate your text messages

REMEMBER!
SMS Alerts are NOT sent whilst you are logged into your profile and    ARE sent when you are logged out of your profile.

• Many browsers refresh automatically whenever a 'window' or 'tab' is re-activated: It is VITAL therefore close    ALL browser tabs on ANY devices used for accessing your profile once you have finished your checks. Failure to do so may cause SMS Alerts to be sent to your emergency contacts the next time the device is connected or the tab loads.
  
  
• ALWAYS notify and discuss your use of this service with your selected emergency contacts so that: - 
  
  i) They are fully aware of the service and what it means
  ii) They know what to do if they receive an alert
• It's a VERY good idea to have a plan in place with emergency contacts
